You can’t go wrong with a basic tee! They have so many colors to choose from, and at this price who could pass this up? I might have to go back and get it in some more colors!

Sequins Inside Pocket Tee (Charlotte Russe $14)

I saw this at Charlotte Russe a couple of weeks ago and was so in love with it, but convinced myself not to buy it. I might have to go back eventually because it is just so adorable. The sequins just add something amazing to the basic tee!

P.S. The title of this post is solely meant to be ironic considering sometimes I wish I was a billionaire so I could afford all of the things that I would like to buy, and do, like go to graduate school.

I was able to get a membership at my University’s gym, which was luckily only $66 dollars for the whole summer (new graduates get the student rate for the first semester after they graduate). That was definitely a nice surprise.

My boyfriend and I are both set on healthier lifestyles so we are planning on going to the gym (most likely 5 or 6 days a week) as well as doing other things such as hiking, walking and playing tennis. Once I get a new bike we can also go biking on the trails around here, which I love! I also like to do yoga at home in my free time, as well as other workout videos such as cardio and sculpting.

As far as eating goes, our biggest downfall is that especially when we are exhausted from work and such, we tend to go out to eat. Aside from being expensive it is also usually unhealthy. So I plan on eating more whole grains (I love wheat pasta!) and vegetables (which I am very picky about). I also want to try to drink more water (which should be easy since I just got a new Nalgene bottle that is so cute!).

So here’s a few of my essentials for completing my goal of a healthier lifestyle:

Any yoga mat would do, but I got my Gaiam mat at TJ Maxx for around 8 bucks on sale and their products are eco-friendly, so even better!

I just bought a new Nalgene, I lost mine last year and I bought a metal water bottle, like the Sigg ones, but I’m not really a fan of those. So I bought another Nalgene the other day.

I’ve had my Nike Shox for a couple years. I scored them on E-bay for $50 dollars and I got lucky because they had never been worn and were in excellent condition. I have really high arches in my feet and find most sneakers really uncomfortable, but these shoes fit great.

Staircase and Bookshelf

The concept of this staircase that also doubles as a bookshelf is very creative and practical. I am someone who loves practicality; so why not have a staircase with storage! It’s very modern and it really encompasses the type of design I like.

 Modern Bookshelf

I love this bookshelf! It has modern edge and it could definitely double as a divider if you wanted to separate the spaces in a room. If I had a office space in my apartment I could totally see something like this in there for storage and style!

Unique Coffee Table

This coffee table can also store books which for someone like me who reads a lot is definitely a plus. Like the other designs featured here the modern edge and practicality of this piece of furniture would be the center of attention in any room.

Modern Bed

I definitely like the style of this bed. It looks like it is floating! And the space underneath would be a perfect place to put storage boxes. I also like the clean-cut look of the design and the black and grey tones in the room.

I love looking at designs and getting inspired. Sometimes I think that’s weird. I mean I’m 21 years old and obviously not getting my own place anytime soon, but like I always say, a girl can dream can’t she?

Incase you haven’t noticed I have a wide array of music taste!

Tonight I went to see Up In The Air, the new movie starring George Clooney and Anna Kendrick. I was really interested to see the movie because as you probably know, Anna Kendrick plays Jessica in The Twilight Saga movies. In my opinion, Anna’s role in the Twilight series hasn’t given her acting abilities enough credit so it was good to see her in another movie.

George Clooney was great as always and Anna Kendrick was surprisingly great as well! The movie had a moral but was also witty and entertaining. I liked how the ending wasn’t a “so they lived happily ever after” type; instead it was actually realistic. I don’t want to give away too much but if you’ve seen Anna Kendrick in Twilight and were curious to see more of her acting then I would definitely recommend this movie, it is a delightful surprise.

p.s. is it weird that the older George Clooney gets, the more attractive I think he is?

My New Year’s Resolutions

• Be healthier. I know how cliche this sounds, but I’m really trying to eat better and exercise more.
• Read more books. I found this list of 30 books everyone should read before their 30th birthday and I really want to start and finish it by the end of 2010.
• Find a new apartment. After graduation I want to find an apartment for just my boyfriend and I. I really want to be able to decorate and make the place my own.
• Get a puppy! I’ve wanted a puppy for years. If my boyfriend and I can find a pet friendly apartment I really do want to get a puppy!
• Buy a Kindle. I love to read and carrying books around is a hassle, I really want an Amazon Kindle which is an electronic device to read books on. I’m hoping after graduation in May I will have the money to buy one!
• Travel. My boyfriend and I are going to Nevada during Spring Break to visit his sister, but I also want to go other places, like New York City and Washington D.C. Hopefully the opportunities will arise next year!
• Get into graduate school. As you may know, I am graduating in May. I have decided to take a year off before I go to graduate school, which will give me time to take the GRE’s and save up money, so next year will be devoted to getting in graduate school!

That’s it for now. If I accomplish everything on my list, next year is sure to be an eventful year!

• PSY 491 Senior Seminar in Psychology

I am really excited for next semester. Of course I love Psychology since it’s my major and since I am taking three Psych. classes I think it will be good! Also, Human Sexuality is one of the  most popular classes at UMaine because the professor is really fun, and can you believe it’s a 350 person class!

But, there is one reason that I am NOT looking forward to next semester. One of my really close friends, Jenn is going to Australia for the semester. She isn’t leaving until February which means she won’t be back until July, and unfortunately won’t be here for my graduation. I am really going to miss her!

Luckily I downloaded Skype so we’ve started Skyping and that is how we are going to stay in contact while she is in Australia. The time change is going to make it difficult but I am sure that we will find time. I am really excited because I know it is going to be a great experience for her, but it does stink that I won’t see her for months!

Anyways…

Bathroom

So relaxing just looking at it, isn’t it? This one is from HGTV’s Dream Home Giveaway this year. I love the teal tiles, they really contrast with the white walls and bathtub which creates a relaxing yet gorgeous atmosphere. To top it all off the house used eco-friendly materials which makes it even better!

Bedroom

I love bedrooms with black, white and grey tones, but this one stands out to me because of the symmetry. I like everything to be equal (two nightstands, two lamps etc.) and this room does just that. What’s even better, is it doesn’t look boring and monotone because of the different patterns and textures.

Kitchen

I like this kitchen because it mixes classic design like the stainless steel appliances with modern elements like the blue lights and the colorful blue tiled backsplash. I have always been a big fan of breakfast bars, so I’d add a few stools to it, but I definitely love this design!

Living Room

I like this living room because it is practical, yet it still looks great! I don’t think I would choose a striped carpet like this one, but I love the couch and the art work is amazing. I definitely think that practicality is most important for a living room though which is why I like ones that have a lot of seating and room.

Well I guess a girl can dream about her future home, right? Maybe I’ll spend the rest of the day drooling over designs on HGTV again…
